DESIGN: DIGITAL
Corus International InUnison Biannual Digital Publication
After creating this digital-only publication as a glorified PowerPoint presentation for several years, I was able to shift our approach to a microsite focusing on the latest subject matter. Below is the mockup of the website I designed to use parallax scrolling to echo the movement of flipping a page in a print publication, while maintaining a digital-friendly presentation of information.
The topic of the Fall 2023 InUnison publication was gender-based violence (GBV) and its effects across the globe. This topic was chosen for this issue because of its alignment with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, organized by UN Women. Our strategy was to hook viewers with shocking statistics on the first landing page and then introduce the scope of the problem, followed by our approach to addressing GBV, and ending on an invitation to join us in this mission. Each page was kept relatively simple with powerful imagery and infographics paired with minimal text, using related but varying layouts to maintain visual interest and keep the eye moving on the page. If users want to dive deeper on a particular topic, they are invited to click on various links that will take them to in-depth articles and resources.
In addition to the publication itself, I created complimentary social media posts to be shared throughout the 16 Days of Activism period as well as an email sharing the publication of the latest InUnison.
Lutheran World Relief Social Media Revival
After a period of relative inactivity on Lutheran World Relief and Corus's social media, the Marketing and Communications team focused on developing a strategy of stewarding donors via social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I worked on concepts, graphics, and videos for all platforms to engage donors in a journey through the life of a project participant, feel nudged to respond to a call to action, and internalize the significant difference they can make in the world by connecting them on a deeper level to their global neighbors.

Calvert School: Website Revamp
During my time at Calvert School, I had the opportunity to completely revamp the website, incorporating Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies by implementing key terms our audience was searching for, engaging design and an clear hierarchy of information to keep users on the page one they got there, and quality content to convert users.
The Admissions landing page is a successful example of this website overhaul. I added three distinct call-to-action buttons at the top right of the page for users who want to cut right to the chase. Below, I created a virtual tour to accommodate COVID-19 safety measures as well as welcome out-of-state prospective parents researching schools before a move. I chose to include testimonials from parents and alumni because for the Calvert audience, word-of-mouth had historically been our best driver of applications. There is also research and data included to support the benefits of a K-8 education and lists of the top colleges Calvert students continue onto in the future.
For prospective parents who still need convincing, I addressed the question of "Why Calvert?" followed by other helpful resources including information on Calvert's Institute for Leadership & Purpose, Tips for Applying to Private School, and the official viewbook for the school.
Pawprints App:
Interactive Prototype
The Pawprints pet tracking app was designed to allow pet owners attach a GPS tracking device to their pet's collar and then track that pet through an app on their smart phone or watch.
Pet owners could enter data for each of their pets, track their location, monitor their vital signs to determine if they were in distress, and receive updates on other missing pets in their area.
An interactive prototype of the app was developed utilizing Adobe Experience Design and user testing was conducted.
Kiddie Calvert: Develop and Design New Site
Calvert School has housed a daycare and preschool since 2007 and recently decided to open a second location to support the increasing demand in the area. This location was to be a separate but related brand to the parent School and be open to families across the region, rather than only those with a connection to Calvert.
As a part of this endeavor, a new website had to be built, videos created, and registration launched. I was able to oversee this entire project, building the website myself and developing all visual content for the site.
Elevate: Webpage Design and Build
As a new revenue stream, Calvert School chose to launch a study skills program for middle school students across the region.
I was tasked with building the webpage, registration, and supporting materials.
The trick with this program was to appeal to both parents as well as middle school students who were struggling in one or more subjects in school.
The design is clean and professional with clearly delineated goals and milestones so parents can be confident in their student's progress in the program.
Middle school students are attracted to the "survival guide" theme of the program that incorporates elements of exploration, the outdoors, and survival.
